About James Luketich
Dr. James D. Luketich, MD, FACS can be found at 200 Lothrop St, Suite C-816, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. He holds several positions, including the Henry T. Bahnson Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Chair of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Chief of the Division of Thoracic and Foregut Surgery, Director of Thoracic Surgical Oncology, Director of UPMC Esophageal and Lung Surgery Institute, and Director of Mark Ravitch/Leon C. Hirsch Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery.
He received his MD from Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1986, MS from Vanderbilt University in 1982 and BS from Old Dominion University in 1977. He completed his surgical training at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, including an internship, residency, and chief residency. He also had fellowship training at Cleveland Clinic, New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Luketich's research interests include all aspects of thoracic oncology (lung cancer, mediastinal malignancies, and esophageal cancer), multidisciplinary management of esophagogastric carcinoma and lung cancer, and benign esophageal disease (gastroesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, Achalasia).
