She participates in the Mayo Clinic lung cancer screening program and virtual CT autopsy of the whole body, collaborates with thoracic surgeons, pulmonologists, oncologists, and pathologists on multidisciplinary tumor boards and radiology-pathology conferences, and is active in research and education including mentoring residents and fellows and publishing in high-impact scientific journals.

Dr. Sykes utilizes advanced radiology reporting solutions such as speech recognition, smart voice interface, and artificial intelligence. She is certified by the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Radiology, received awards for her work including the Center for Innovation Award and Recognition of Staff Satisfaction Achievement from the Department of Radiology, and is a member of the Department of Radiology and serves as the Vice Chair of the Radiology Speech Run Org committee. Dr. Sykes is located at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
