About Christian G. Peyre
Dr. Christian G. Peyre, M.D., has been appointed as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center, within the division of thoracic and foregut surgery. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Berkeley and his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California.
Following his graduation, Dr. Peyre completed both his internship and residency in surgery at the Keck School of Medicine. During this period, he dedicated two additional years to an esophageal research fellowship, focusing on Barrett's esophagus and esophageal cancer. He furthered his specialization by completing his Thoracic Surgery training at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, under the auspices of Harvard.
Dr. Peyre is a recipient of several prestigious awards, including multiple research grants, and has authored numerous publications in the field of thoracic and foregut surgery. He is a frequent presenter at national conferences, discussing topics pertinent to his specialty. His clinical interests are notably concentrated on minimally invasive thoracic surgery, lung cancer, and various esophageal diseases, including gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett's esophagus, and esophageal cancer. Committed to delivering compassionate and world-class surgical care, Dr. Peyre actively engages in a collaborative partnership with his patients to ensure optimal outcomes. Additionally, he holds the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, specializing in Thoracic (SMD), at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
