About Marcelo DaSilva

Dr. Marcelo DaSilva is a highly accomplished thoracic surgeon who currently serves as the Medical Director of Thoracic Surgery for AdventHealth Orlando. He has extensive experience in the field, having previously worked as a thoracic surgeon at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Care New England, and a Lecturer in Surgery at Harvard Medical School.

He also undertook an elite fellowship in trauma and critical care at Penn State and was awarded the Bristol-Myers Squibb Scholars of Surgery award for outstanding achievements.

In 2007, Dr. DaSilva was honored to receive The Mark Young International Medical Studies Scholarship to participate in the Third Annual World Health Care Congress in Barcelona, Spain, alongside Nobel Prize recipient Dr. Bernard Kouchner. He received his medical degree from Gama Filho Univ.-Rio de Janeiro and completed residencies in Surgical Critical Care at Milton S Hershey Medical Center, Thoracic Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center, Surgery at General - New Rochelle Hospital Medical Center, and Surgery at General - Milton S Hershey Medical Center.

He is Board Certified in Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and Thoracic Surgery (Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery) by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
