About Shanel Bhagwandin
Dr. Shanel Bhagwandin is a highly skilled surgical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of a wide range of cancers, including complex or recurrent cases. He is the Medical Director for the Gastrointestinal (GI) Surgical Oncology Program and Program Director of the National Pancreas Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Center of Excellence at Jupiter Medical Center. He has expertise in the management and treatment of benign conditions, as well as the use of the latest advances in technology to diagnose and treat cancer.
Dr. Bhagwandin is fellowship-trained and board-certified in general surgery. He has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of complex malignancies of the liver, pancreas, and biliary tract, as well as gastric and esophageal cancer, colon and rectal cancer, sarcoma, and melanoma. He also specializes in the management of advanced peritoneal carcinomatosis through the use of Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) and cytoreductive surgery.
Dr. Bhagwandin received his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his internship at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System and his fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
